WrestleMania 33 will be the thirty-third annual WrestleMania professional wrestling pay-per-view (PPV) event produced by WWE for the Raw and SmackDown brands. It will take place on April 2, 2017, at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida.^[2] It will be the second WrestleMania to be held at this venue, which hosted WrestleMania XXIV in 2008, and the third to be held in the state of 

Background

WrestleMania is considered WWE's flagship event,^[3] having been described as the Super Bowl of sports entertainment.^[4]

The tickets went on sale on November 18, 2016, with individual tickets costing $38 to $2,130.^[5] On October 31, 2016, traveling packages with accommodation ranging from $950 to $5,900 per person were sold.^[5][6]

The official theme song for the event is "Greenlight" by Pitbull featuring Flo Rida and LunchMoney Lewis.^[7]

On February 20, 2017, it was confirmed that The New Day (Big E, Kofi Kingston, and Xavier Woods) would be the hosts of WrestleMania 33.^[8][9]

Storylines

The card will include matches resulting from scripted storylines and have results predetermined by WWE on the Raw and SmackDown brands.^[10][11][12] Storylines are produced on WWE's weekly television shows, Monday Night Raw, SmackDown Live,^[13] and 205 Live, the latter of which is cruiserweight-exclusive.^[14]

The winner of the Royal Rumble match traditionally earns a world championship match at WrestleMania. With the reintroduction of the brand extension in mid-2016, which resulted in two world titles in the promotion again, the Royal Rumble winner received a match for either Raw's WWE Universal Championship or SmackDown's WWE Championship. Randy Orton won the 2017 Royal Rumble, the second in his career, and thereby earned a title match for his brand's WWE Championship.^[15][16][17] On the following SmackDown, Orton warned WWE Champion John Cena, who had won the championship from AJ Styles at the Royal Rumble, that if he manages to retain the title at Elimination Chamber, he would be taking the title from him at WrestleMania 33. Orton then pinned Cena in a tag team match between The Wyatt Family (Orton and Bray Wyatt) against Cena and former Wyatt Family member Luke Harper,^[18] but lost to Cena the following week thanks to a distraction by Harper.^[19] At Elimination Chamber, Orton defeated Harper, while Wyatt won the Elimination Chamber match to become the new WWE Champion.^[20] The following SmackDown, Wyatt retained the championship against Cena and Styles, despite an attack by Harper. Orton then came out and said that he refuses to fight Wyatt at WrestleMania due to his devotion to Wyatt.^[21] SmackDown General Manager Daniel Bryan then scheduled a 10-man battle royal for the February 21 episode to find a new opponent for Wyatt at WrestleMania.^[22] The battle royal ended in a draw when both Harper and Styles went over the top rope simultaneously;^[23] Styles defeated Harper the following week to become the number one contender.^[24] However, at the conclusion of the February 28 episode, as Wyatt was about to deliver his invocation, Orton appeared on the titan-tron and was at The Wyatt Family compound, which was also the burial of Sister Abigail, the cult leader that Wyatt followed and named his finisher after. Orton declared that he was no longer Wyatt's servant and that he only joined The Wyatt Family to destroy them from the inside (Orton joined the Wyatt's in October 2016 after failing to defeat them in several matches^[25]). Orton then set the compound ablaze, which caused Wyatt to have a mental breakdown, and Orton said he was coming for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania.^[24] Due to this confusion, Daniel Bryan and SmackDown Commissioner Shane McMahon decided that Orton would face Styles on the March 7 episode of SmackDown to determine the decisive number one contender for Wyatt,^[26]where Orton defeated Styles.^{[27]  (COPYRIGHT-WIKIPEDIA)}
